On this page everything revolves
around tape machines (reel to reel tape recorders) and cassette
recorders.
The tape recorder technology is certainly not the most
modern kind of sound and music recording. However, I
have found that there are still more friends of the old reel to reel tape machines than I expected.
Therefore,
I decided to set up a website where I can show my recorders and share my experience with other people interested
in these old, but interesting technologies.
The
old tape machines or
reel
to reel tape recorders are almost a technique which has not been up-to-date for several decades but, in contrast to most of the devices currently available in the market, represent
at least value-resistant and repairable technique. Most of today's devices of the entertainment electronics can
not be repaired at all if a defect occurs. Not infrequently the repair costs exceed the value of the
device. Today, electronic devices are for the most part a disposable product.
I
hope you enjoy viewing and reading these pages and will be interested in the interesting areas of tape machines and tape recorders (if you do not already).
Necessary warnings
Rebuilding tape recorders and cassette recorders is a very nice hobby. Nevertheless, safety must never be neglected. I would therefore like to ask interested persons with the intention of dealing
with electronics and electronic devices such as tape recorders, to first familiarize themselves with the appropriate safety measures which must be taken into account in the repair and operation
of electrical and electronic equipment. Also, I have already had the experience that the contact with mains voltage is very unpleasant. Similarly, fatal electric shocks can occur if you are not
careful. I do not want anyone to spoil the fun of the thing, but I am of the opinion that one can not often point to the dangers.
Here is an equally necessary note:
I can not accept any liability for any damage that may occur during the repair of electronic devices to persons or devices.
The brand names mentioned here are the property of the manufacturers and on this page only serve to identify the devices.
